Working from memory and drawings in my sketchbook, I start a process of searching and finding connections with nature, touching on fragmented observations from my immediate environment and my own intuitive awareness. The landscape plays a huge influence in my work, but more as an evocation of its source. I work freely and spontaneously capturing visual rhythm, pattern, colour and balance of composition. Each monoprint seeks to capture the essence of a moment, while the medium of silkscreen print reflects a desire for simplicity.

My intention behind my work is not about making the images complicated or physical but more about letting the work be engaging, so that may provoke something within to be stirred and awakened. I simply want the work to be visually connecting in some way.

In 2004 I gained a BA (Hon) Fine Art degree from the Falmouth College of Arts, Falmouth, Cornwall and since then have taken part I numerous workshops including printmaking, ceramics and textiles. My work has been exhibited in London, Dorset and Cornwall and I continue to exhibit my work with these links.

In 2005 I migrated to New Zealand with my husband and family from Cornwall UK. In June 2006 I became a committee member of the Queenstown Art Society and can now be found most days working in my studio space at the Queenstown Art Centre.

I consider myself as an artist who has gained good foundations in a variety of printmaking techniques including monotype, etching, and silkscreen printing and more recently painting on canvas.
