Brad Novak
Born in Auckland in 1976 with Croatian heritage, Brad is a contemporary artist exploring the combination of colour, shape, contrast and composition with a personally distinctive painting style. His one-of-a-kind, hand-drawn and hand-painted works are created through purposeful over-layering of designated 'masked' areas with repeated layers of paint.
"My choice of subject, from the culture and landscape of Aotearoa to animals and more dynamic organic forms, reflects a love of the natural world".
Achieving a balanced composition, equilibrium between simplicity and complexity, and high-quality finishing are characteristic features of his unique artwork which has been acquired by collectors in both NZ and from overseas.
