Dagmar Dyck

Dagmar was born in 1972 of Tongan/German parentage. She graduated from Elam School of Fine Arts in 1995, and has been exhibiting since 1993.
Dagmar's major focus in printmaking is silkscreen, which allows her to reproduce with extraordinary accuracy the drawn line.

'My work reflects and encompasses the three different cultures of my heritage, Tongan, German and New Zealand'.

Her imagery is sourced from artefacts collected by Cook's voyages, the Lapita culture and a collection of shells. This is then assembled into vibrant simple compositions that reconstruct space.
